Let the Voting Begin~

Dear HHSO,

THE CONCEPT
The Sharing the Prize Seed Grant program will provide two Valley non-profit organizations with $25,000 to accomplish a shared community improvement project that lifts and strengthens the greater Valley community – our kids, our neighborhoods, our schools, our underserved populations.

THE CATCH
Finalists are selected by a combination of online voting and the Sharing the Prize Seed advisory board. We need to use the power of our social networks to gather votes.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Go to http://sharingtheprizeseed.org/grant/ and vote for “Help young and expectant moms graduate from high school

Our project description is at the bottom of the page. The voting poll is on the right hand side of the webpage and our project is listed first!

Voting is now open and will end on May 21, 2010

WHAT MORE CAN I DO?:  Spread the word via your social networks – Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, blogs, personal emails to friends and family.

Attendance Award Reminder~

Dear HHSO Student,

We are offering an attendance reward! You can earn entries into a drawing for Trip to Magic Mountain in California and various TECHNOLOGY gadgets: iPad and a Netbook!

  • Trip Drawing is May 10, 2010 (you and ONE friend will go on the trip (includes Admission ticket into Magic Mountain, 1 Meal Voucher, 1 Snack Voucher, and Transportation -- Breakfast, other food, and spending money not included. Parent permission required)
  • Technology drawings are June 14, 2010

10 entries into the drawing if you have

  • No absences from March 15th until the drawing is held (30 or MORE hours a week required)
  • School year total hour attended is 900 or more! (Please contact Rebecca AFTER April 1st for an hourly total for the whole year)
  • Complete at least EIGHT classes this school year.
  • Have No Honor Code violations
  • Must not be on an Academic Contract

5 entries into the drawing if you have

  • No absences from March 15th until the drawing is held (30 or MORE hours a week required)
  • School year total hour attended is 800 or more! (Please contact Rebecca AFTER April 1st for an hourly total for the whole year)
  • Complete at least SIX classes this school year.
  • Have No Honor Code violations
  • Must not be on an Academic Contract

3 entries into the drawing if you have

  • No absences from March 15th until the drawing is held (30 or MORE hours a week required)
  • School year total hour attended is 700 or more! (Please contact Rebecca AFTER April 1st for an hourly total for the whole year)
  • Complete at least FOUR classes this school year.
  • Have No Honor Code violations
  • Must not be on an Academic Contract

  • For every course you complete, you get 5 entries
  • For every textbook returned you get 2 entries
