Art History

This course is an introduction to art history and an introduction to the art making process. Lessons cover aesthetics, processes, and the study of various time periods and movements in art. Specific topics studied in this course include: Defining Art, Art Criticism, and Visual Vocabulary. Art from various regions in the world will be studied, including Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Chinese, African, and Native American. Time periods in art, such as Early Medieval, Romanesque, Baroque, and Rocco art will be examined.

This course meets the graduation requirement for Hope High School Online in the area of Fine Art/CTE.
