Freshman English 2

Literature, grammar and vocabulary are introduced on an integrated basis throughout the semester. Both the study of the structure of language and the study of literary selections are means to the end of achieving greater effectiveness in composition and greater sensitivity to diversity. The focus of English is writing paragraphs with purpose, writing essays, practical writing, and writing a research paper. The scope and sequence of literature will enhance reading comprehension, literary skills, vocabulary, process writing, critical thinking and viewing.
